Heaton Park - The Eden Of Manchester

Heaton Park, Manchester

Heaton Park is the biggest park in Manchester and the largest municipal park in Europe. It has a Grade1 listed, 18th-century country house called Heaton Hall, playgrounds and a farm. It is home to the Manchester Beekeepers Association. Heaton Park has just about everything you could wish for vast parkland to walk through, boating lake, kids playground, animals and historic building in the centre.

We followed usual path around the park. It has a fantastic play area, with something for all ages. From mini swings and slides to a bouncy chair. The paths leads you past fields where you'll usually find donkeys, Shetland ponies and sometimes horses, alpacas and cows. In the new Animal Centre smaller pets like rabbits and guinea pigs can be handled and the chickens can be feed. There is a play area too.

From here we wandered down to the lake. You can hire a boat at weekends if you wish. There is a path that goes around the lake which is very pleasant- you'll actually approach the park from here if you use the lakeside car park. As you can see in the picture, the swan and ducks came hurtling towards us, clearly used to being spoiled with bread.

Then we popped into the cafe. This is one of the three cafes in the park, It's very pleasant with nice waterside views. Shortly after The Heaton Park was brought by Manchester Corporation the tramway was extended into the park and the first tram arrived on 31 May 1903. Now a toy tram runs in the park which take you to the different parts of park and can also visit museum.

The best part about coming here are the squirrels, for sure! They're very friendly and sweet. Make sure to bring monkey nuts with you as the squirrels will come up to you and take them straight out of your hand. It's so wonderful to get away from the busy play areas and watch the children feeding these little animals.

Heaton Park provides comfortable sitting arrangements for the visitors. You can find fixed chairs and benches at the suitable spots in the park. And then i realised a couple was sitting and relaxing. I love old people in love. It makes me realise you can be with someone for forever and makes me believe that true love does exist..

I loved this deep moist air, saturated with oxygen and filled with freshness. Noticeably, the trees are beginning to turn colours of red, orange and yellow, the beautiful colours of autumn. As the wind blows, the colours of the leaves blend together into a beautiful portrait that God painted for us. The sound of the birds chirp makes you think of some beautiful songs.

As the bright orange sun was peaking through the horizon, the bright blue sky was bare of clouds and there was a light mist in the cool crisp environment. The air smelled fresh and clean, and you could smell the dew in the air.The grass was wet and beginning to turn slightly brown. The ground was covered with a blanket of dried leaves that had fallen from the trees like snow, leaving the branches almost bare. It was quiet and peaceful; the only sound heard were the footsteps of those walking by. The colours of sky keep changing throughout the day, from pale pink at the dawn to a dazzling blue at mid morning and a bright orange by sunset.

Beauty is hard to define but easy to recognise. There is beauty in the flower, birds, animals and trees many of which are vividly colourful. I love the sound of the birds chirp, rattle of the breeze and sound of running fresh air. The beauty of nature has been extolled in the works of poets and artists.

There is loads in Heaton Park that i have not mentioned like golf course, pitch and putt, the various beautifully architect buildings. There's also many events like health walks, film screening, theatre. If you haven't been to Heaton Park to should definitely make the visit.  Take your time to wander around and discover the beautiful Heaton Park.
